Range test

Tesla Model S

85 (2014)

This ten-year-old Tesla Model S 85 with 186,000 km on the clock still covered 420 km at 90 km/h in a test at around 18 °C. Usable capacity was estimated at about 66 kWh, roughly 11.5% degradation, and 158 Wh/km came across as impressive for a big seven-seater. Software updates added features such as dog mode, but the old MCU1 screen only connects via 2G, and supercharging is slow, topping 100 kW only briefly. It still drives impressively well, and its range was judged on par with modern EVs.
