Smart #1
Brabus
In a test at around 3 °C, the Smart #1 Brabus used 191 Wh/km at 90 km/h and covered 330 km, which counts as middling efficiency. Its synthetic engine sound, which mimics a combustion engine and switches off under cruise control, came across as brilliant rather than silly. The Beats sound system earned a good eight, and the lane assist worked well even at motorway speeds. Despite room for only four banana boxes, the tall boot took a family pushchair without removing the wheels.
