Once a solar system, a battery or a heat pump is commissioned, most households end up with one app per device and no single view of their own home. And the company that planned and installed the system has little reason to be in touch again.

For partners who want their own energy app in the App Store, the answer has been Zerofy Whitelabel, and it still is. But not every installer wants to launch an app.

Today we are opening Zerofy reseller self-service. Any installer, electrician, energy consultant or energy supplier can create a partner account, upload their logo and sell Zerofy licences to their customers under their own brand. It takes less than ten minutes, and there is nothing to pay before you start.

The Branding page in Mission Control: company name, website and logo uploads on the left, a live preview of how the Zerofy app looks to your customers on the right.

How it works

  1. Sign up. Create your partner account online in a few minutes, from our reseller page.
  2. Upload your logo. It appears in the Zerofy app for every customer you onboard.
  3. Get your first codes. New partners receive three 1-year Zerofy Plus codes straight away, so you can try it in your own home or with your first customers.
  4. Buy licences when you need them. Order licences in the Mission Control shop at any time and generate one unlock code per household.
  5. Your customer unlocks the app. They download Zerofy, enter your code under Redeem code in their profile, and connect their devices. No site visit needed.
Redeeming a code in the Zerofy app: choosing the code type, then entering the system code the installer handed out.

The code carries your brand

Every unlock code belongs to the partner who generated it. When a customer enters your code, the app knows which installer or supplier they came from, and your logo appears on the Now tab, in a night version after dark, and next to your company name in the provider list.

That gives you the brand recognition without an app of your own: no App Store listing, no development work. And in Mission Control you see every household you onboarded and the systems in it.

Reseller or Whitelabel?

Both put energy management in front of your customers. The difference is whose app they open.

  • Whitelabel: your own app in the App Store and on Google Play, in your brand colours, with your onboarding and optionally your own tariff. A product launch, with a set-up fee and a project behind it.
  • Reseller: the Zerofy app, carrying your logo and your name. No app to build, no set-up fee, and you sign yourself up online.

Reseller is the option a lot of installers and smaller suppliers have asked us for. They were not going to run their own app, but they did want a cloud HEMS to offer their customers, a recurring revenue line on top of the installation, and their name somewhere customers see it. You can also start here and move to Whitelabel later.

A recurring revenue line

Licences are prepaid per household for 1, 3 or 5 years. You set the price for your customers, so the margin is yours. You can put the licence in your installation quote, sell it as an add-on or bundle it with a tariff.

There is no set-up fee, no minimum order and no subscription to cancel. When a licence ends, you sell your customer a new one, or they continue with Zerofy Plus in the app. Current licence prices are on our pricing page.

What your customers get

  • One app for solar, battery, EV charger and heat pump, across 80+ brands, with no extra hardware.
  • Autopilot, which uses solar surplus and dynamic tariffs automatically. Our simulations show savings of up to €1,000 a year for a typical home with PV, battery and EV.1
  • Ready for §14a in Germany via the smart meter gateway or control box.
  • First-level support from Zerofy, so the “how does the app work” calls do not come to you.

Where this fits

Zerofy brought the cloud-based white-label HEMS to market: energy management for the whole home, across every major brand, without extra hardware in the meter cabinet. In June we added Mission Control, so partners can run their installed base and support their customers from one dashboard. Reseller self-service is the next piece, and it opens the platform to partners who were never going to start a project for it.

One piece is still missing. More on that soon.

Get started

Learn more and sign up on our reseller page, upload your logo, and you can send your first code to a customer today. If you would rather talk it through first, book a call with our team.

  1. According to Zerofy simulations comparing fixed vs. dynamic tariffs. The example assumes a 10 kWp solar installation in a single-family home with 8 kWh energy storage and 12,000 km annual EV mileage at 60% home charging. ↩
